Section 105 Schools of Choice
(Non-resident students residing within the Van Buren Intermediate School District)

Mattawan Consolidated School accepts non-resident students residing within the boundaries of the Van Buren Intermediate School District (Bangor, Bloomingdale, Covert, Decatur, Gobles, Hartford, Lawrence, Lawton, Paw Paw and South Haven school districts) under the Section 105 Schools of Choice Program.

As set forth in Section 105 of the State School Aid Act, parents of non-resident students must complete and submit an Application for Section 105 Schools of Choice during the open enrollment period(s) prior to enrolling in Mattawan Consolidated School.

Section 105c Schools of Choice
(Non-resident students residing within the Allegan, Berrien, Kalamazoo and Lewis Cass
Intermediate School Districts)

Mattawan Consolidated School accepts non-resident students residing within the boundaries of the Kalamazoo County Intermediate School District and Allegan County Intermediate School District under the Section 105c Schools of Choice Program.

As set forth in Section 105c of the State School Aid Act, parents of non-resident students must complete and submit an Application for Section 105c Schools of Choice during the open enrollment period(s) prior to enrolling in Mattawan Consolidated School.

Tuition Status

Mattawan Consolidated School accepts non-resident students residing outside the boundaries of the Van Buren, Allegan, Berrien, Kalamazoo and Lewis Cass Intermediate School Districts on a tuition basis.

The tuition status option would also be necessary if a parent wished to enroll their student in Mattawan at at time when a Schools of Choice "open enrollment" period was not in affect.

Parents of non-resident students must complete and submit a Tuition Request Form. In addition, a letter of release from the school district in which the student resides must be obtained and on file in the Central Administration Office. (PLEASE NOTE: letters of release are typically provided for the current school year only. Therefore, parents must contact the resident school district on a yearly basis to obtain a release for their student(s).). Parents may apply for tuition status at any time during the year.

Tuition fees are assessed as follows:

$ 300.00 per child/per year for students in grades K-5
$ 400.00 per child/per year for students in grades 6-12
