Family Literature Bags

In October 2007 Deb Milka and I received an MPEF (Mattawan Public Education Foundation) Creative Instruction Award to produce Family Literature Bags.
Our goal was to produce 30 bags so that each class would have 15 bags at a time enabling each child to check one bag out every other week.  We trade bags mid-way through the year, so each class will have a whole "new" set of bags!

What is a Family Literature Bag?
Click here to look at our grant proposal to find out more!

Many hours have been spent putting these bags and activities together. Therefore, you and your child must complete a Family Literature Bag Contract before he or she is allowed to check out a bag.

from our Literature Bags.

We always accept donations of books, puzzles, small toys, games or other items for our Family Literature bags.  You can click on our above proposal to see the topics of our bags.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to the families of the second grade class of 2007-2008 for helping us to make this project a success! We had many donations from families which enabled us to complete the project even after our MPEF funds ran out.
