Welcome to Kindergarten!

Welcome to a new year at Mattawan Schools! I am excited to be able to have your child in my classroom. I look forward to a great year of learning and growth for your student. It is my belief that a working relationship with school and family enhances education.

Let me introduce myself. My name is Jolene Davey and I have been teaching at Mattawan for 13 years. Before this, I substituted in various schools in the area for 5 years. My masters degree in teaching is from Aquinas College. I received a specialization in Early Childhood Education as well. I also have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Western Illinois University. My daughter will begin her graduate degree at University of Michigan on the same day we begin school. My son is working full time while taking his courses.   I am proud to be able to start your child on the learning journey at our school!  In my spare time I like to swim, bike, read and travel.  You will hear a lot about my excitement for books this year.
