  • The best thing for kids who have expressive language difficulties is to hear language produced correctly.  It's so important for good language models to be present, both at home and at school.  If you child says something incorrectly, repeat what they said with correct grammar or sentence order.  Just hearing a sentence produced correctly will help!

 

  • If you child has difficulty understanding language, verbal directions will be very difficult.  Make sure to make directions simple and break them down into 1-2 parts.  Visual guides also help.
