A wiki is a special kind of website. It allows LOTS of people to create, edit, and collaborate (that means work together) on a website together. Anyone can create a new page for the website, or they can edit and add to something that's on a page already. The word "wiki" is a Hawaiian word that means "fast" or "quick". The man who invented the very first wiki website back in 1994 used the word wiki because anyone could change a wiki-powered website very quickly. His name was Ward Cunningham, and he was a pretty smart guy!
