Math calculation usually refers to the actual "math" - the adding, subtracting, multiplying or dividing of numbers, decimals and fractions.
You can help your child with math calculation by practicing math facts. We talk about "math fluency," which means working through problems using either memory or a quick strategy to arrive at an answer quickly. Flash cards, and many websites including Math Facts in a Flash, can help increase your child's math fluency. Practicing problems at home helps too - find out where your child needs to work (for example, double digit times double digit multiplication) and start there!
