• EARLY ELEMENTARY MEDIA CENTER
“We Succeed When Little Wildcats Read"

  • Welcome to the Early Elementary Media Center Library.  We look forward to teaching and learning with your children again this year, or perhaps for the first time.

The Media Center is open every school day to serve our staff, students and families.

Please use this website to stay tuned-in to the many areas of our Library Learning.  Use the links on the left side of this Homepage for various resources and information.  Please feel free to call us with any questions that you have regarding Media Center activities.  Enjoy a great school year!

Few children learn to love books by themselves. Someone has to walk them into the wonderful world of the written word; someone has to show them the way.” – Orville Prescott

The Media Center is a classroom for all our students.  Elementary students, K-2 come to the media center twice a week.   One class time is spent learning with the Library Media Specialist, Mrs. Laura Ballard, for Information Literacy and book exchange.  Students will also attend Technology Integration with teacher, Mr. Nick Travis.  Both experiences include the integration of  Core Curriculum State Standards and AASL (American Association of School Librarians) Standards for  21st-Century Learners and the State of Michigan Technology Standards K-2.

The Media Center also sponsors Book Fairs, a Birthday Book Program, Summer Reading Program and facilitates the promotion of various reading activities throughout the school day and year.

We encourage our students to take home one of their library books to share with you at home.  Please help your student/s to find a special place for his/her library book.  We remind them that all books must come back to the library in time for their next library day and it is their library book, so it is their responsibility.  They just need a little help with their “responsibility plan.”  Thank you so much for allowing us to partner with you in this learning adventure!

Please come and experience the excitement of learning in the Media Center.  The links listed on the left will provide more information regarding curriculum, activities and other resources.
