Brain Strong Instruction Award

Each year, the Mattawan Public Education Foundation provides funding for grant awards to teachers in the Mattawan Consolidated School District.  The purpose of “Brain Strong” Instruction Awards, formerly known as Creative Instruction Awards, is to enhance classroom instruction and encourage creativity and innovation.  Individuals and groups of teachers are invited to apply for the award.  Only one applicant will be accepted per project.

Applications will be selected for funding through a competitive process in which projects are judged for a clearly defined compelling need related to potential student learning.  Innovation and originality enhance the likelihood of an award.  All funds are to be used for expenditures related to instruction and project costs.  Partial funding may be granted for projects as well.

Applications that include requests that involve technology (hardware, software, subscriptions, applications, etc.) will be reviewed by the district Technology Department to assure compatibility with existing technologies as well as sustainability over time.  Technology purchased by this grant becomes the property of Mattawan Consolidated School.

All applications will be submitted and reviewed online.  Please click on the following link for the application form.  Funds must be expended and/or reimbursed by April 30, 2019.

We will be accepting applications for Brain Strong Instruction Awards, starting now, until Friday, October 5, 2018.

The Brain Strong Awards will be announced on Friday, November 2, 2018.

Thank you for all that you do for our Mattawan Students.  You are a difference maker, and we would like to make a difference to you.
