Middle School Artwork Fundraiser
Figures show that Kalamazoo schools have 900 homeless students which is the highest in the state. This alarming statistic is the same number of students in our Middle School building. Your child is helping make a difference. They voluntarily donated their art to auction off with the hope that not only would they help Kalamazoo students but also the Mattawan students who are homeless as well. The top 20 art pieces voted by the students will go on sale in an auction on eBay On Tuesday, May 14th at 9:00 a.m. The proceeds of this 10-day auction will be split entirely by the four following organizations:
Mattawan Food Packs – Provides weekend food items and milk vouchers for students
Supplies for Success – Provides clothing, winter gear, and other items to students
Mattawan Area Pantry – Provides food for those in need on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month
Boys and Girls Club of America – Provides support for at-risk students in three Kalamazoo locations
The student artwork will appear on our Mattawan Consolidated School web page. The auction is in Teacher Kevin Hamman’s name and at the close of the school year, the money will be split between the above organizations.
