MEET THE PRINCIPAL

  • I’d like to begin by thanking everyone at MCS for sharing such a warm welcome. It has been greatly appreciated and has made the transition a smooth one. As I enter my 23rd year in education, I am excited to work alongside such a great staff in service of our students and families and to help continue the tradition of excellence here at Mattawan LES.

I grew up in Oakland County, but my professional experiences have taken me to West Branch-Rose City Area Schools, Holland Public Schools, Van Buren ISD, and Dowagiac Union Schools before coming to Mattawan. I have experience as a classroom teacher, Instructional Specialist, and Assistant Principal, as well as softball coach, with other roles sprinkled in along the way. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English and Biology, as well as a Master of Arts in Educational Administration and Supervision, with State of Michigan teaching and K-12 administration certifications.

My husband Andrew (also a school administrator and coach) and I have three children–Ellison and Troy are both in college and Breanne is in her last year of high school. We are a very busy family with both of us coaching and all of our kids involved in various sports. We also love to golf and travel whenever possible. In addition, I am an avid UM Softball and Marvel fan. Our fourth baby is an English Springer Spaniel named Adrian, who is the most spoiled of all.

Please stop in and say hello. I am looking forward to meeting everyone and excited about the great things we will accomplish together.
